Free Ringtone Maker App Reviews

I got fed up with the free ringtone maker online so I got this app. I am totally not computer-savvy but after reading the reviews here I quickly figured out how to use it and am so HAPPY! This is so easy…open the app, drag and drop your selected song into the app, mark the start and stop of the ringtone, click “start,” go into iTunes/tones and it will be there! Drag and drop tone to phone, sync, then go into settings/sounds/set ringtone on phone - EASY and free! I’m so glad I didn’t buy an app but tried this one first.

It seems to work well with most files I have tried. Unfortunately, the one file I really wanted to use was not downloaded via iTunes and doesn’t work. The sound wave bar shows the song as 2 minutes long, which is correct, but the song length above that says it is 13 minutes. When I scrub through the bar, the sound playing does not match the point in the song at all. At 30 seconds, the audio from 2 seconds into the song is playing. At the end of the 2 minutes i can only hear about 15 seconds of the song. Doesn’t seem to happen to any other songs, but I can’t figure out why this is happening. Other than that, it works well enough.

All i get is spinning beach balls with this app. Then i need to force quit. not worth my time to pursue a fix. i’ll get another app.

For a free app I have no complaints. In just a few minutes I had a custom ringtone for my iPhone and a minimum of issues with the application. Definitely try this out before investing in the pricier software, as i think most of us aren’t planning on selling our ringtones and they don’t need to be exact to the millisecond. I hope everyone has an excellent experience like I did when using this software.

Five stars!! After jerking around for about two hours, downloaded FREE ring tne maker and had it done in what, two minutes!! It worked as advertised!!! Used it on a MacBook Air and dumped the ringtone to my iPhone 6! No issues!! Frank T..

I just bought an iMac 27” with retina display, so it’s brand new, works great, no problems. I started this app, went to a song to try to make a ring tone and started having problems. It started giving me the swirling circle thing (I’m a PC user, bear with me), so ok, I give it a bit. It finally loads the song with a 40 second selection highlighted. I try to play it to see how it will sound, and I get the swirling circle again with nothing playing. Several clicks later, it finally starts playing, but then starts playing again, as if my clicks of the play button finally caught up to it. I then couldn’t stop the music from playing, couldn’t do anything else in the app, and had to figure out how to force quit it in order to get control back (my mouse pointer even disappeared during all of this). Not. Worth. It. And that’s saying something since it’s free.

I tried to use this about 7 times in a row and it crashed each time. don’t waste your time.

To my suprise this app actualy works and is very user friendly… Loving this save me much monney on new ring tones.

It just keeps creating the same ringtone over and over. I can’t move around in app to change songs as the pinwheel starts…I have to just exit out. I’m disappointed. I need a good ringtone maker :( FREE!

Seriously the best thing ever. Ive been looking for ways to get ringtones and it was such a headache downloading apps that you would have to fix the song to your liking, save it to your desktop then play it thru itunes and sync again. So tedious! but with this you dont need to go back and forth with your phone. Insert song and sync to phone and thats it! so simple! I PRAY THEY DONT START CHARGING US.

I mean, sure it’s not as flashy looking as some of the other equivalent apps. But it does its job…and solidly so. I was able to construct a single ringtone in about 3 minutes. It accesses the playlists you created in iTunes and you can directly access the song from there. Keep in mind that it will keep the same exact song order as you placed it in the playlist…not put it in alphabetical order. You can easily set start and end times by sliding the “active field” or actually input specific times. You can also nudge it with arrow keys. It goes without saying you can control the length of the ringtone (longest ringtone allowed is 40 seconds…minimum is 5 seconds) Once it’s finished making the ringtone, it automatically sends it to your iTunes Ringtone folder.

I just made bunch of ringtones using iTunes library! So easy and very happy. Just keep up please.

I installed it and deleted it within 5 minutes. Every time I load a song it hangs my *bran new retina MBP*. It keeps hanging it every time I open the app. Apparently for some people it works fine, but with my hardware it doesn’t work. Very buggy and unstable release of the software.

Whenever i try to do anyting the colorful loading wheel pops up and when it stops it won’t let me do anything and the wheel starts all over again...

I agree with all the positive reviews ! It does exactly what its supposed to do its easy and straight forward. User friendly with easy layout. Thanks Awesome App ! ! !

You spend more time waiting for your cursor to come back from the swirling colors than actually doing anything, literally 80% (if not more) of your time is spent waiting for you to even be able to click anything. My Mac is up to speed, I have no porblems with any other programs. This program looks like it would be user friendly, if I could use it.

Not sure what’s going on but this program doesn’t work with the current OS [Yosemite]. Used to be flawless, before Yosemite, but now the cursor just sits and spins in the stupid rainbow circle. Needs a complete re-do, bug repair, update.
